Why do we travel?
It's an amazing experience.
It's an amazing experience.
Growing up, I was fortunate enough to have parents that took my family traveling to many different places. Everywhere from Hawaii, California, Alaska, New York, Mexico, Vancouver and more. I loved learning about and seeing all the different places and what they had to offer to visitors. Each time we went to a new town we would partake in an activity that was native to the area from snorkeling to glacier trekking, salmon fishing, hiking. This sparked my interest as a kid so as I grew older I wanted to travel more and further outside of the country. After graduating college I somehow talked my parents in taking me to Italy, my first European adventure and it was amazing! We walked through town, sipped on Chianti, checked out a lot of naked man statues, and ate a TON of that delicious Italian food. After this trip, I guess you could say I took a break from traveling. I moved out to Colorado, didn't have the finances or the desire to travel. Fast forward to the spring of 2014, I started exploring Colorado and surrounding states, my interest in traveling came back and has grown significantly. -Amy | I don’t know where my desire to travel came from. I think somewhere deep inside of me I had a need to get out of where I lived and explore the world. Growing up, my family took small weekend trips every summer, one big family trip to Disney and a weekend in California. That was the extent of my travel. During High School I took a trip with friends and their family to Vail, CO, which would end up being the reason I moved out here and in turn, changed the course of my life. During college I saw friends of mines traveling abroad and it always made me jealous. When I finally moved out to Colorado, my interests in traveling grew tenfold. I went on a long, shower-less road trip out west and that was the starting point for me. At this point in my life I only had visited Mexico, The Canadian side of Niagara Falls and a cruise to the Bahamas. Getting on a plane and flying to Europe scared the hell out of me. It wasn’t until I met Amy and gained a travel partner that the ideas of going abroad really grew. When we pulled the trigger and booked our flight to Iceland everything changed. Now traveling is all I want to do. I’m hooked. -Anthony |
